  • Approved provider only. The course must come from a Colorado-approved provider, and the course number is how the state identifies it.

Frequently asked questions

Does Colorado require pre-licensing education?

Yes. Colorado Regulation 1-2-5 requires 50 hours of approved pre-licensing education for each line of authority, including 3 hours of ethics, 3 hours of general Colorado insurance law and 4 hours of Colorado law for the line. You must finish it before you sit for the state exam.

Is Elite Training Academy approved in Colorado?

Yes. Elite Online Training Academy LLC is an approved Colorado pre-licensing provider, Provider ID 237818. Our Property & Casualty (67709), Personal Lines (67710) and Life (67711) courses were each approved on August 10, 2026 for 50.00 hours of self-study credit.

How long is my completion certificate good for?

Regulation 1-2-5 makes a Colorado pre-licensing certificate valid for one year from the date you complete the course, so plan to pass the exam within that year.

Is the course online?

Yes. All three courses are self-study and fully online. You work at your own pace on a computer or phone, with an AI tutor available on every lesson.

Do you offer Accident & Health pre-licensing in Colorado?

No. We do not have an approved Colorado Accident & Health course. If you need that line, use another Colorado-approved provider for it.

Can I skip pre-licensing education?

Some applicants can. Regulation 1-2-5 exempts someone previously licensed for the same line in a reciprocal state (with conditions), and it treats the full curriculum for certain designations as an approved course, for example AAI, ARM, CIC or CPCU for property and casualty, and CLU or ChFC among others for life. Check with the Colorado Division of Insurance before you enroll if this may apply to you.
