Pick your state

40 states have live practice exams. Each state page lists every license we cover there.

What a practice exam actually tells you

A score on its own is not that useful. What matters is which sections you missed. Every state exam is built from a published content outline that says how many questions come from each topic, and the passing standard is set by the state, not by a raw percentage. Our practice exams are weighted to that same outline, so the sections you get wrong here are the sections that will cost you the most on test day.

That weighting matters more than most people expect. On the Texas Life Agent exam, for example, 30 of the 80 scored questions come from Texas law alone. Study material that spreads attention evenly across topics leaves you underprepared for more than a third of the exam.

How to use the free exam before you buy anything

  1. Take it cold, before studying. A cold score tells you how far you actually have to go rather than how well you remember what you just read.
  2. Write down the sections you missed, not the score. Those section names map directly to the chapters you need.
  3. Retake it after a week of study. If your weak sections have moved and your strong ones held, your plan is working.
  4. Only then decide whether you need a full course. Some people pass on free material and a state handbook. Most do not, and that is worth finding out for free rather than at the testing center.

If you do want the full course, it is $49.99

One payment, lifetime access, no subscription and no renewal. That gets you the complete 500+ question bank with written explanations, full-length timed exam simulations, and an AI tutor on every lesson that will explain why an answer was wrong in plain language.

Kaplan, ExamFX and A.D. Banker generally charge $200 to $450 for comparable exam prep, and their access usually expires on a fixed window, so a delayed test date can mean buying it again. We are built lean for the exam-prep tier specifically and pass that on. There is a 7-day money-back guarantee if you have completed less than 25% of the course.

Common questions

Is the practice exam really free?

Yes. Twenty questions, instant scoring, and no account or card required. We do not gate the result behind a signup.

Are these real exam questions?

They are exam-style questions written to the same state content outline the real exam is built from, drawn from the same bank our paid course uses. They are not copied from the live exam, which no legitimate provider has access to.

How many questions are on the real exam?

It varies by state and license. Texas General Lines Property and Casualty is 150 scored questions in 150 minutes; the Texas Life Agent exam is 80 scored questions in 120 minutes. Your state page lists the count for the license you pick.

What does the full course cost?

$49.99 one time with lifetime access and no subscription. Kaplan, ExamFX and A.D. Banker generally run $200 to $450 for comparable exam prep, usually with an access window that expires.
