State exam
An exam is required before the state approves the request for several licence types, including producer, surplus lines, consultant, public adjuster and independent adjuster.
Fingerprints and background check
Every application carries a $32 fingerprint fee, which does not apply to amendments or reinstatements. No vendor is named.

Surplus lines applicants need three years of experience with an equivalent property and casualty qualification.
