- Application fee
- $50 (amendment $50) (Insurance Producer)
- State exam
- Insurance Producer exams are required for Life, Accident & Health, Property, Casualty, Personal Lines and Title, and not required for Variable Contracts, Credit Products, Crop, Travel, Accident & Baggage, Bail Bondsman, Legal or Title Practice Attorney. Public Adjuster requires an exam. Surplus Lines Agent and Automobile Club Agent do not.
- Fingerprints and background check
- Applicants who must sit an exam also submit a fingerprint-based criminal background check and a signed Fingerprint Policy and Acknowledgement Form before the application is reviewed. The form is on the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance website.

What score do I need to pass?

Does Tennessee require state-approved prelicensing education?
