Exam logistics
Where to apply and book the exam
- Washington is one of only ~11 states that ELECTS its Insurance Commissioner statewide.
- Washington is a MONOPOLISTIC workers' comp state — employers must purchase WC from the state's Department of Labor and Industries (L&I), not from private insurers.
We have not published a step-by-step Washington checklist yet. These are the official sources; anything on this page that is not cited to one of them comes from the state's own published exam outline.
