State exam
NIPR verifies exams before allowing submission. Exams are required for licence types including Insurance Producer, Public Adjuster, Bail Bond Agent and Title Agent, and not required for others including Surplus Lines Broker and Life Settlement Broker.
Fingerprints and background check
Supporting documents go through NIPR's Attachments Warehouse where a background question is answered yes. No vendor is named.
How to apply
Apply electronically through NIPR's Resident License application.
License term and renewal
All Vermont licences expire on 31 March of the applicable renewal year, and the renewal period opens ninety days before, on 1 January.
Also worth knowing
P.O. Box and private mailbox addresses are not accepted as a residence address. Any additional documentation must be submitted within thirty days of the application.
