- Application fee
- $75 (reinstatement $75) (Resident Producer Individual)
- State exam
- An exam is required before the state approves the request for several licence types, including producer, surplus lines, consultant, public adjuster and independent adjuster.
- Fingerprints and background check
- Every application carries a $32 fingerprint fee, which does not apply to amendments or reinstatements. No vendor is named.
- How to apply
- Apply electronically through NIPR's Resident License application.
- Also worth knowing
- Surplus lines applicants need three years of experience with an equivalent property and casualty qualification.

Utah administers the Utah Producer's Casualty Exam, 100 scored questions, a 120-minute time limit, administered by Prometric. The exam fee is $32.
What score do I need to pass?
Utah does not publish a passing score for this examination, so treat the candidate handbook as the authority rather than any figure quoted elsewhere.
Does Utah require state-approved prelicensing education?
No. Utah does not mandate prelicensing education for the Casualty license - passing the exam is what qualifies you. Exam prep alone is sufficient.
