- $30 (Insurance Producer)
- State exam
- Exam requirements vary by licence class. Insurance Producer requires exams for Life, Accident and Health, Property and Casualty; Variable Life and Variable Annuity does not.
- Fingerprints and background check
- Every resident applicant must be fingerprinted as part of the application, as must anyone reactivating a cancelled resident licence or amending a resident licence issued more than two years ago. The state completes the check and no third-party vendor is named.

- Licence classes not itemised on the page are $30. Independent and Public Adjusters must file a $10,000 surety bond.

What score do I need to pass?
The published passing score is 70%.
Does New Mexico require state-approved prelicensing education?
No. New Mexico does not mandate prelicensing education for the Life license - passing the exam is what qualifies you. Exam prep alone is sufficient.
