Insurance Producer exams are required for Life, Disability (Health), Property, Casualty, Limited Lines Credit, Pre-Paid Legal, Surety and Title. Surplus Lines Producer, Motor Club Agent and Viatical Settlement Broker require no exam.
Fingerprints and background check
One year after the initial licence is issued, the applicant is deferred for a fingerprint check by the Montana insurance department. No third-party vendor is named.
