- Application fee
- $75 (amendment $75) (Insurance Producer (all lines of authority excluding Surplus Lines))
- State exam
- Insurance Producer exams are required for Life, Accident & Health or Sickness, Property, Casualty, Personal Lines, Bail Bond, Title, Industrial Fire, Surplus Lines and Surety, and not required for Variable Life and Variable Annuity, Credit, Travel or Limited Life, Health & Accident. Claim Adjuster exams cover Automobile, Commercial Lines, Crop, Personal Lines, Property & Casualty and Workers Compensation. Public Adjuster requires an exam.
- Fingerprints and background check
- Every new resident applicant, producer, claims adjuster, public adjuster and consultant alike, must submit the licence application BEFORE being fingerprinted. The fingerprinting vendor is IdentoGO by Idemia.

What score do I need to pass?
The published passing score is 70%.
Does Louisiana require state-approved prelicensing education?
No. Louisiana does not mandate prelicensing education for the Property & Casualty license - passing the exam is what qualifies you. Exam prep alone is sufficient.
