State exam
NIPR verifies exams before allowing submission. Exams are required for Insurance Producer (Life, Accident & Health, Property, Casualty, Personal Lines, Credit, Crop, Surety), Surplus Lines Producer, Independent Adjuster, Staff Adjuster, Public Adjuster, Appraiser and Umpire. Sales Agent requires no exam.
Fingerprints and background check
Fingerprinting is required of all resident applicants and must be completed after the application is submitted. A confirmation email carries the Fieldprint code and scheduling instructions.

There is no fee to amend a licence. Examination results are valid for ninety days.
