- Resident Producer exams are required for Life, Accident & Health, Property, Casualty, Personal Lines, Surplus Lines, Credit and Crop Hail, and not required for Variable Life and Variable Annuity Product, Travel Insurance, Attorney Title or Professional Cash Bail Agent. Resident Public Adjuster requires an exam.

- Colorado does not license Independent Adjusters. Public Adjusters must provide a $20,000 surety bond and power of attorney. This page states no fingerprint or background-check requirement.

Colorado administers the Public Insurance Adjuster, 60 scored questions, a 75-minute time limit, administered by Pearson VUE. The exam fee is $41.
What score do I need to pass?
Colorado does not publish a passing score for this examination, so treat the candidate handbook as the authority rather than any figure quoted elsewhere.
Does Colorado require state-approved prelicensing education?
No. Colorado does not mandate prelicensing education for the Public Adjuster license - passing the exam is what qualifies you. Exam prep alone is sufficient.
