Frequently asked questions
How many questions are on the Alaska Life exam?
Alaska administers the Life Producer, 90 scored questions, a 135-minute time limit, administered by Pearson VUE. The exam fee is $89.
What score do I need to pass?
Alaska does not publish a passing score for this examination, so treat the candidate handbook as the authority rather than any figure quoted elsewhere.
Does Alaska require state-approved prelicensing education?
No. Alaska does not mandate prelicensing education for the Life license - passing the exam is what qualifies you. Exam prep alone is sufficient.
Is the practice exam built to the real Alaska exam's format?
Yes. Our practice questions and final exam are weighted to match Pearson VUE #122203 eff. 2025-03-03, section by section - not a generic national blueprint with a state label on it.
